PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS: TURKISH-TATAR-ENGLISH

Past perfect continuous designates action that has been in process for a (usually specified) period of time prior to a specified or implied moment in the past.
Again, the simplest form of any Turkic tense is that for pronouns "he/she". So, have a look at suffixes corresponding to these pronouns first. Other pronouns, require an additional suffix.

Idiosyncrasies:
TatarTurkish
Past Perfect Continuous in Tatar is not recognized officially but is used occasionally, which is less frequent than Past Perfect. Suffix "p" in the structure (see below) is used for verbs ending on a vowel, suffixes "ıp-íp" are used for verbs ending on a consonant. Past Perfect Continuous in Turkish is recognized in some advanced grammar books, and is used fairly regularly, although not in as structured a manner as it is used in English. Its usage is mostly limited to formal occasions. "idi" can be used after suffixes "makte-mekte" separately from them (as in Tatar), which makes the structure more formal, however usage given in the "Structures" table is more common.
